Anti-discrimination policy
HomeSplit is an Equal Housing Opportunity operator. Housing decisions on HomeSplit are based on the same objective screening criteria for everyone — identity, income, and background — never on who you are.
01Protected categories
Consistent with the federal Fair Housing Act, we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, familial status, or disability — in approvals, bookings, pricing, house rules, or any other term of membership.
02What our staff and operators will never do
- Reject or discourage an application based on a protected category.
- Apply different rules, pricing, or fees based on a protected category.
- Express a preference for or against members of any protected category.
- Charge additional fees because of a disability.
- Ask about the nature or severity of a disability.
03Service animals and emotional support animals
Service animals and emotional support animals are always welcome, in every home — a “no pets” house rule never applies to them, and no pet fee is ever charged for them. We may request documentation for an emotional support animal, but never for a service animal, and we never ask about the disability itself.
04Reporting discrimination
If you believe you have experienced discrimination on HomeSplit, contact support@homesplit.io. Reports are reviewed by our team, and violations by staff or operators carry consequences up to removal from the platform. You may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
